Weekends are so busy you can not even park.
One of my favorite places in Southeast Missouri and a true hidden gem. It’s a crazy, narrow drive to get there but a beautiful one that is worth the time it takes! I have spent many days here from any season swimming, climbing, or just hanging out. It’s very peaceful when the summer is over and also very refreshing even with a lot of people there. There’s a nice swimming area with gravel and sand at the bottom and pools of water on top of the Falls you can hang out in. All different temperatures. Truly beautiful and worth a visit.

We just happened upon this spot while driving by. Made the quick decision to stop and I'm glad we did. The waterfall was really cool and easy to get to. The easy to get to part also draws a crowd which was evident when we were there on a weekend. It didn't seem to be your average river crowd with drunks, loose dogs, and kids running loose and unattended. Everybody seemed really chill.
Great place, wonderful swimming hole. However, as it is so popular, there will be a lot of people there. The bathrooms are rather primitive. But its a wonderful place! Should visit! Lots of people from out of state come to visit this place! clingman-photography.site123.me.
So much fun. There were lots of people here this July, a fun mix of locals and tourists, and my whole family had such a great time. Climbing the falls and looking down from them is a wonderful experience. Our 9-year-old had no problem with the climb, but the older people in our group weren't able to climb the falls. The swimming hole is still great, though, with shallow areas mixed with deeper sections. The water gets very warm in the shallows, almost like a hot tub.
